🌸 Flower Care Guide

At Flower Art USA, every bouquet tells a story — birthdays, anniversaries, apologies, or simply “thinking of you.” To help your flowers stay fresh and beautiful for as long as possible, we’ve created this simple and essential flower care guide.

🧼 1. Clean Your Vase

Before arranging your flowers, make sure your vase is thoroughly clean. Wash it with warm water and a mild soap, then rinse and dry completely. A clean vase helps prevent bacteria that can shorten the life of your flowers.

✂️ 2. Trim the Stems Properly

Using clean, sharp scissors or garden shears, cut each stem at a 45° angle. Do this under running water or immediately after taking them out of water to prevent air from entering the stem. Re-cut the stems every two days to boost water absorption and keep your flowers vibrant.

💧 3. Use Fresh Water Daily

Fill the vase with fresh room-temperature water. If you received floral food with your bouquet, add it according to the instructions. If not, simply replace the water every two days and rinse the vase. This keeps your blooms hydrated and healthy.

🌡️ 4. Choose the Right Spot

Place your flowers in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, drafts, heaters, or vents. Avoid setting them near ripening fruits, which release ethylene gas that can cause flowers to wilt prematurely.

🌷 5. Flower-Specific Tips

Roses
Remove any leaves below the waterline and gently discard any outer petals that look tired. If a rose begins to droop, re-cut the stem and place it in fresh water.

Lilies
Once they bloom, carefully remove the pollen-covered stamens to avoid staining and extend the flower’s life.

Tulips
They prefer cold water and cool spaces. Rotate the vase regularly so they grow upright as they naturally lean toward light.

Carnations, Alstroemeria & More
Remove any fading blooms and change the water frequently. Trim the stems every few days to encourage lasting freshness.
